Privacy Policy
We built it to collect nothing
Effective October 28, 2026
The short version
- No accounts, sign-in, ads, or analytics.
- We never receive your child's artwork or any personal information.
- Everything you make stays on your device.
- Purchases go through Apple; we never see payment details.
Coloring with Miya (the "app") is made by JDMdesign ("we", "us") for children and families. This policy explains what information the app and this website handle. The short answer is: as little as possible.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party code that collects data. We don't receive your artwork, your progress, or any information about you or your child.
What stays on your device
Your pictures, coloring progress, badges, favorite colors, palettes, and settings are stored only on your device. They may be included in your device's own iCloud or computer backup, which is controlled by you and Apple, not us. Deleting the app deletes them.
Photos
If you choose Save to Photos, the app asks for permission to add a picture to your photo library. It can only add pictures; it can't see or read your photos.
Miya's Voice
When Miya's Voice is on, Miya's tips are played on your device, using voice recordings built into the app or your device's own speech voices. Nothing is sent anywhere to make her talk. The app never uses the microphone and never records audio.
Purchases and downloads
Book purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive payment details or your Apple Account information; Apple only tells the app which books are unlocked. Books download from Apple's servers, and Apple's privacy policy covers purchases and downloads. You can read it at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Grown-up checks
Buying books, restoring purchases, sharing pictures, and opening links that leave the app are behind a short grown-up check so children don't do these by accident.
Children's privacy
The app is designed for children and meets the App Store Kids category requirements. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to share, sell, or delete. This is consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws such as the GDPR and California privacy law.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising, or tracking, and its fonts and images are served from our own server. Like nearly every web server, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We don't use these logs to identify anyone.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you, and we delete support emails when they're no longer needed. Please don't send us your child's personal information.
Your rights
Since we don't hold any personal information from the app, there's nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you've emailed us and want that conversation deleted, just ask.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. If we ever wanted to start collecting information, we'd ask first.
